Junk nails: What is the maximalist manicure trend seen at Fashion Week?

Junk Nails

Junk nails have dominated Fashion Week runways, replacing the clean girl aesthetic with nails covered in mix ‘n’ match, 3D embellishments.

Junk nails are essentially anything you would find in that ‘junk drawer’ everyone has, full of useless items we convince ourselves we may need, stuck onto your manicure. From Hello Kitty charms, jewels and beads to anything down to a paper clip, this trend has decided that ‘more is more’; giving previously useless items a use!

While the minimalist look has been popular for years with clients seeking the ‘natural, but better’ neutral overlay look, perhaps venturing out with a baby pink chrome finish or French Tip for a special occasion – Fashion Week has brought back the bold.

While potentially seen as chaotic, junk nails offer the perfect opportunity for clients to express themselves, choosing embellishments that reflect their identity and interests by adding a pop of personality to any outfit!

What do you think, will you opt for a junk nails manicure, or will you be sticking your go-to neutrals?
