Inside look: Sweet Squared’s CND Plexigel™ Tour, Brighton

Sweet Squared has been touring the UK with CND Plexigel™, hosting education events in various locations for nail professionals to learn about the system. I caught the event when it stopped off at The Grand Brighton, on 21 March 2022.

I was greeted by Sweet Squared co-founder, Samantha Sweet and education ambassador, Victoria Trafford and there was a huge turnout of nail pros, each just as excited as I to learn more about the Plexigel™ system. It was great to see so many networking and catching up with Instagram friends who they hadn’t had a chance to meet in person.

Attendees were seated at round tables in the venue and an introduction informed everyone of the plan for the day. Conversations were buzzing and nail techs were keen to get started after not being able to attend events like this due to the pandemic, and a sense of community filled the room. Each table had a designated educator to provide support throughout the event and answer any questions. This concept helped techs to develop a more personal relationship with their educator and to make it a more bespoke experience. When arriving at their space, each nail tech was presented with a CND Plexigel™ system to use and take home with them, along with any other tools or products they needed for the event.

The education ambassador leading the three and a half hour event was Victoria Trafford, who explained the theory of the system through video demonstrations and verbal explanations of what was being taught, before practical sessions were held. The event covered:

• Plexigel™ prep
• How to bulletproof your colour overlays with Shaper
• Natural nail enhancements
• The ultimate transformations with Plexigel™ Builder
• Finish filing

Nail technicians had approximately 20 minutes to complete each practical task from each section with clear instructions given on what they had to complete and on hand feedback from their educator always available throughout the task, making the event 90% practical based.

The event was also full of surprises and lucky treats as at the end of each practical session, each educator nominated someone from their table to ‘spin the wheel’ to win a prize, which included Sweet Squared credit and CND™ shades. Not only that, at the end of the day, one lucky nail tech was awarded a Golden Ticket which allows them to complete a course on Academy², based on their performance throughout the day. In Brighton, Annabel Brand of Euphoria Beauty in Kent was the lucky winner of the Golden Ticket for helping other techs on the table and showing a real determination to improve her business by chatting to the Sweet Squared team and asking plenty of questions.

At the end of the event, nail technicians headed home with the CND Plexigel™ system, new nail tech friends, a wealth of knowledge about the system, a certificate to prove it and a smile on their face.
