Ibiza calling…for bold, bright nails

Suzanne Clayton of Souz Nails & Beauty and Souz & Co blogs for Scratch following an exciting fashion nails opportunity in Ibiza – at which she and a team were called upon to share their skills…
“In February 2019, I was asked to start a fashion nail team, Nails by Souz and Co, following great work success at London Fashion Week. I formed contacts with designers, make-up artists and models, and from this, I started getting bookings for photo shoots and fashion flash mobs. During a fashion flash mob, a model named Millie and her mum, Nikki, mentioned that they were heading to Ibiza as Mille would be modelling at Ibiza Fashion Festival, an annual event that provides an exciting platform for up-and-coming and established brands.
“They kindly said that they would put my name forward to the organisers to do the nails for the event, as we worked so well together. By the following morning, I had enjoyed an email, telephone conversation and meeting with Karen Windle, the organiser of Ibiza Fashion Festival, and she booked me for the event. I contacted Sammy MacDonald, co-founder of Gelica Gel, to sponsor the nail team with product and she offered to join us in Ibiza.
“I then attended a meeting for Ibiza Fashion Festival with all the models, Hair by Vogue, Cultbraid, a catwalk choreographer and the events management team. I had prepared custom made tips in 20 different designs following a brief from Karen, and was delighted to have my team in place; Lisa Graves and Becki Jones who I have worked with before, and Sammy MacDonald and Karen Brown (a Scratch Stars finalist), from Gelica Gel.
“The team is taking 280 custom made tips to Ibiza created using a combination of Gelica Gel Polish colours including Electric Barbie, Outstanding Orange, Lime Soda, Black Raven and Purity with accents of silver metal studs on one of the designs. We are also taking nail kits with us just in case!
“The first fashion show is to be on the rooftop of Sol House Ibiza with an amazing line-up of designers and DJs, and the last show will be two days latesr at Es Paradis.
“I’m so excited to work with an amazing team and can’t wait to see the outcome! Check back soon for my next blog instalment.”
