I visited TGB Spa in Brighton for a luxury pedicure – & here’s how it went

Nail brand, The GelBottle Inc, has opened its much-anticipated TGB Spa: a sanctuary for beauty treatments in the bustling city of Brighton.
I was invited to explore the space and indulge in a Luxury TGB Gel Pedicure – and it didn’t disappoint.
I arrived at Brighton train station and I tapped the spa’s address into my phone, and was pleasantly surprised to see a short walk of 10-minutes.
Enjoying the sun and chirping seagulls, I arrived at stylish-looking venue, which boasts a dark, charcoal grey exterior with gold accents, making an impressive statement to passers-by.
As I entered, the spa’s lighting features were first to catch my eye. From warmly lit, chic shelving units surrounding the reception area to the abstract lines travelling up the curved white walls, the lighting casts a relaxing, tranquil and luxurious glow across the salon floor.
Taking a seat in the waiting area, I was presented with a consultation form and a sea of shades to choose from for my luxury pedicure. Opting for the hot pink The GelBottle Inc shade in Heartless, thanks to a suggestion from the spa staff, I was introduced to nail technician & TGB’s training and education manager, Giorgia Cappella, who led me to the pedicure cove.
Nestled beneath a curved pink wall were four cream, leather pedicure chairs and foot baths raised on a platform, with smaller, wheeled chairs on the lower level for the nail technicians. Headphones were placed on the back of chairs for clients who prefer silent treatments or seek to relax by zoning into their favourite music.
A cup of tea was ready waiting beside my chair, and Giorgia adjusted the plush seat to make sure I was comfortable, while filling the foot bath with water at a temperature of my preference (extra warm, of course).
The treatment was relaxing, and certainly lived up to its ‘luxurious’ claim, including a soothing foot soak, an exfoliation, a hydrating foot mask, nail shaping, cuticle care as well as gel polish overlay, and Giorgia seamlessly delivered every step as I chatted and laughed with her, and admired my surroundings.
Extremely pleased with my pedi treatment, I explored the rest of the space. In front of the pedicure station are manicure desks, sat conveniently next to the impressive cocktail bar overlooking the main spa floor.
A mirrored wall sits multiple shelves, full with cocktail ingredients which enables a long list of drink options. These can be ordered via QR code from treatment spaces and brought to clients during treatments, or can be enjoyed sat at the grand bar, before or after treatments.
I spoke to the head of TGB Spa & events, Simon Haffenden, who praised this feature. He said, “A spa with a cocktail bar is very unheard of, so it’s definitely one of our unique selling points.”
A decoratively-lit corridor invites clients to the other treatment rooms; a hair salon, a massage room and additional treatment room used for services such as Vitamin IV Drips and aesthetics.
At the back of the corridor lies an impressive changing room, decorating with branded robes, towels and products, with lockers to keep client possessions safe, topped off with a shower area featuring a waterfall shower head.
Simon notes some of the other treatments the spa offers, saying, “We have botox, IV drips, massages, hydra facials, laser, lots of hair services in our fantastic hair studio and of course our TGB manicure and pedicure treatments.”
“We offer a unique, luxury experience. The spa has lots of things that we do to make it memorable. This includes our top quality service and our talented technicians who have been trained with TGB. Our high level of service complements the spa’s luxurious interior,” he continues.
Recognised beauty-industry mogul, Daisy Kalnina, is behind TGB Spa. Having founded The GelBottle Inc as well as her travel and interiors company, by DKollection, this project merges her experiences of the two businesses, creating ‘a luxurious and premium beauty space in her signature design aesthetic.’
The space is open 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 8pm on Sunday. The elongated opening hours was an intentional decision, allowing clients to book appointments that seamlessly integrate into busy lifestyles; whether wanting to pop in for treatments before or after work, nights out and ’emergency’ beauty trips.
