THIS MONTH: Beauty2Trs adds exciting new course to it repertoire with animal portrait painting by Australia’s Viv Clements-Simmonds
Viv Clements-Simmonds has taken her passion for animals and depicted into art on the nail. During this class, Viv teaches how to create a fox from a picture.
To create a detailed, realistic look, Viv will explain how to use various brushes to create different effects throughout the course along with various painting techniques such as shading, blending, detailing etc. With this knowledge, students will be able to recreate effects and textures from other photos on a canvas of choice.

Director of VIVid Nails & VIVid Nails Academy, Viv hones over 29 years’ industry experience and has achieved international status & recognition through her accomplishments and career to date. She has won nail competitions including the title Australian Champion for five consecutive years, the Australian Champion of Champions title, EzFlow Educator of the Year award and many more awards and titles in Australia, Asia, America and Europe including Nailympia.
Viv has created seven front covers for leading international nail magazines, trade books and has been listed in the Who’s Who of Australian Women 2010 & 2011. She’s also been featured on television, in industry and commercial magazines in Australia and internationally.
Viv’s accomplishments have taken her all over the world, conducting training events in Advanced Nail Technology & Design and one of Viv’s greatest achievements in her career is her Australian & New Zealand Team of ACE educators that she mentored and trained. Viv is constantly rewarded with watching them grow and develop into multi-award winning nail artists and educators.
GEL ART PAINTING – CREATING A FOX FROM A PICTURE
The class is broken down into steps in order to not only create this particular picture, but to understand the basics of the technique, which allow you to look at all manner of pictures and break them down to be able to transfer them to other canvases, but for this class – onto a nail!
During Gel Art Painting with Viv, you will cover the following:
Step 1. Using the photo image to break it down into sections to recreate on the nail.
Step 2. Sketching out the design
Step 3. Applying the base colour
Step 4. Applying a touch of detail
Step 5. Painting the eyes
Step 6. Filling in the rest of the shading and details
