Halo Easibuild Pure Nails

The team at Pure Nails reveals how to build strength and enhance the natural nail with Halo’s EasiBuild

Step 1: Prep

Prep work is vital and should never be rushed, taking 10-15 minutes to complete. It helps ensure that the product will adhere to the natural nail by eliminating any barriers that may affect it. Check out some prep tips, here.

Cuticle work: Push back cuticles using the Pure Nails Manicure Tool and the Pure Nails Cuticle Nipper to cut away any dead skin/cuticle. Remember – when using cuticle nippers, is if there isn’t anything to cut, don’t cut it! Cutting live cuticle or skin can hurt the client and cause damage to the nail and skin.

Shaping: Using a 240/240-grit file, shape the nail as desired and buff. Spray Prep & Scrub all over the nails to dehydrate the nail plate and remove any debris from the nail.

Step 2: EasiBuild

Apply Halo Gel Polish Base Coat to the middle of the nail and bouncing the brush up to get the product as close to the cuticle as you can. Next, drag the brush down each sidewall and cap the tip of the nail. Cure for 30 seconds.

Next is Halo Easibuild application. Apply a ‘slick layer’; a thin layer of gel that acts as a guide for the second layer of thicker gel. It is really important to apply the slick layer very neatly and exactly where you want it to go; as close to the cuticle as you can, down each nail side wall and then to cap the end of the nail. Once you are happy with how your slick layer looks, do not cure it – but move on to apply the second layer.

With the second layer, you want to get a lot of product on your gel polish brush. Allow the product to fall and gather at the tip then gently press it onto the middle of the nail. Push up the product as high as you can, then wiggle the product from side to side and cap the tip (there should be no need to drag the product, it should just fall into place). Now get your client to turn their hand upside down for a few seconds to allow the gel to fall to the centre and create a natural apex. Ask your client to pop their hand into the lamp and cure for 30 seconds. Continue with the rest of your client’s nails.

Pure Nails head of education, Tina Bell, suggests starting off with the little finger and the ring finger nails. Once those have cured, move onto the other hand and do the same nails. Then continue with the rest of the other nails to save help speed up the process.

Step 3: Finishing touches

Once the EasiBuild has been cured and all nails completed, remove the inhibition layer with Prep & Scrub and a wipe.

Next, buff the EasiBuild. File down the sidewalls, around the cuticle area and along the nail. Once you have complete the filing process, remove the dust with Prep & Srub.

Now time to apply base coat. This step isn’t essential, however, we feel that it makes it easier when applying colour. Base cured, apply the client’s colour choice and then Halo Gel Polish Top Coat.
