“Think about which style of studying suits you best and see what style of teaching is offered at your chosen venue. Also take the time to do your research; read reviews and testimonials from past students and speak to them if you can. Look at the standard of work past students are producing after training.”
“Do they inspire you?”
“When choosing a training provider, it’s important to understand the type of course you are booking,” adds Tracy McGoogan, INK London educator for the North. “Is it more workshop-style, skill building course with no accreditation, or is it an accredited course that you will be able to use to satisfy your insurance policy when learning a new system? “My guidance would be to check the course has the appropriate accreditation by a recognised awarding body,” Carly Howarth, Sweet Squared education manager states. “Who is facilitating the course? Ideally a true, passionate ambassador for the brand, someone with experience and industry knowledge. The course content and tutor contact time are essential as is ongoing support after qualification.”
“It is best when looking at courses to choose a brand you know has quality products, good ethics and has products to suit both your needs and your clients needs,” says Daisy Kalnina, founder of The Gel Bottle Inc. “When you find that brand, train with them directly. This will ensure you get the best out of that brand and that you will be shown by someone who uses it themselves so knows all the tricks and tips.”
