How the Lisa & Lou initiative has helped my nail business make more money

Scratch chats to Louella Belle brand ambassador, Rachel Herar, about how online sales platform Lisa & Lou has helped boost her business.

The initiative, named after Louella Belle founder, Lisa Crook, allows pros to retail products through the platform, giving them the opportunity to generate extra revenue through sales with commission earned on every product. Lisa & Lou aims to make the retail process easier for pros, removing the pressure of managing a web shop and the need to carry large amounts of inventory.

“I heard about the Lisa & Lou initiative after registering for a Louella Belle trade account,” Rachel recalls. “One of my colleagues in the industry was already using Lisa & Lou, and told me how great and easy to use it was!

“I was attracted to the idea of not having to hold lots of stock in the salon, especially having gone through the pandemic and losing so much money on unsold stock.”

“It was so easy to set up,” she explains. “I registered with my email address and personal details and set up Face ID, so it’s super quick to log into when I’m working.

“I have the link attached to my Instagram page, so clients can browse and shop whenever it’s convenient for them.”

Lisa & Lou has most definitely uplifted and enhanced my business. Retail sales have increased hugely, and clients are continuing to re-purchase. Clients love that they can get their orders super quickly direct to their door.”

“Bestsellers for me are the Evolve Beauty skincare products, specifically the Bio-Retinol Gold Mask and the Bio-Retinol and C Booster. They sell themselves and clients love the results they are getting.

“I also sell quite a few of the Footlogix Mousses, after clients have experienced their first pedicure. I have really focused on marketing my home care for treatments this year,” Rachel shares. “If you can explain the importance of this to your clients in order to get the best out of their in-salon treatments, it really makes selling super easy.”

“Clients love the ease of being able to order themselves. They have all spoken highly of the quick delivery,” she notes. “I have noticed a lot of clients prefer to shop late in the evenings, which makes it super convenient that they can do it all themselves outside of working hours.

“I inform my clients about Lisa & Lou via my Instagram business platform and also face-to-face during or after treatments. That way they all have the link to use easily in their own time.”

“Benefits of being a Pro Star, specifically for my business, are most importantly that I never have to hold stock!

“I keep minimal retail, mostly minis and samples, so clients can try before they buy,” Rachel says. “This way I never have too much money held in the business, which, when your business is only small, is vital.”
