“A professional well-constructed brow will frame your client’s face, open and lift the eyes, and define and balance features,” enthuses brow expert & Salon System educator, Lisa Stone.

“In my opinion, to achieve all of this, a full brow service should include:

  • A full consultation
  • Tinting services with understanding of costume colour blending
  • Waxing, threading and tweezing services for hair removal
  • Makeup application to showcase products for retail

“There are a number of things to consider when looking at customising a brow treatment. To start, ensure all clients have been patch tested to reduce risk of allergies, and you have conducted a full consultation.

“Next, you need to look at face shape, the size of eyes and how the eyes are set. Also look at their hair colour. Will they be changing their hair colour? Do they want to create brows to match? Will you need to bleach?

“Examine the hair growth: are they sparse or overgrown? Are there any scars you will need to style the brows around?

“Also consider what the client is already doing. How do they style them? What old habits do they have?

“Salon System offers courses to learn all these skills and techniques. Information can be found at www.uktraining-solutions.co.uk.”
