Behind The Brand: Meet the founder of Sash Pro Tools

Scratch chats to Founder of Sash Pro Tools, Sashanie Gray who shared why she started the brand and the plans for the future.
Founded in 2017, Sashanie Gray created her own product range after being a self-employed manicurist and having delved into many channels in the beauty industry such as education, consulting, beauty events for major global beauty brands, product development, mentorship, and salon ownership.
“Sash Pro Tools are an extension of my heart & hard work. They were birthed in the classroom, tested in the salon, & endorsed in my living room” said Sashanie.
Sashanie created the Sash Pro Tools product line because she wanted everyone to have access to quality and affordable manicure tooling. The line launched with three main tools, otherwise referred to as “The Besties.” This includes a 14-JAW cobalt cuticle nipper, a double-sided square cuticle pusher, and a round-scooped cuticle pusher.
“This has been quite the journey. What people see as an instant result, took me nearly 3 years to launch. Within those three years there were challenges with finding the right manufacturer, and once the manufacturer was locked in, it took the last two years of testing and tweaking prototypes to achieve what we have today. It’s always a work in progress for us, the customer experience can always be improved” revealed Sashanie.
After being so focused on running her own salon, the pandemic gave her a chance to put all of her work and time into the product launch in April 2020. “The Covid-19 pandemic helped to pivot me from expert manicurist to manicuring tool product provider” smiled Sashanie.
The brand consider themselves to still be in the incubation stage as it has only been ten months since the initial launch. “We are paying attention and listening to our customers and making changes accordingly. We care, we are always keeping our eyes and ears open to opportunities of how we can improve to best suit the needs of our customers” commented Sashanie.
Sash Pro Tools plan on expanding their stock this year as well as making modifications to their existing offerings. They are also hoping to launch an educational branch of the brand.
