Scratch chats to Lucy Pastorelli, founder of LP Nails, about how she came to create her own brand of nail products…
Following 11 years as a nail technician, salon owner and teacher of up to 50 students a week, Lucy Pastorelli has founded LP Nails – armed with passion and the needs of her students in mind.
“I firstly wanted to find a great, affordable e-File that would be suitable for beginners to advanced technicians,” Lucy reveals. “After sourcing it, alongside drill bits and hygiene kits, I began to explore the idea of creating a tool range to complement.”
With the fast pace of the nail industry and increasing demand from nail technicians for quality tools, Lucy wanted to do something to stand out.
“The nail industry is changing and technicians understand the importance of using quality tools,” Lucy reveals. “There are a number of nail tool ranges on the market – so I thought it was vital to do something different if I was to launch my own brand, offering quality without compromise.
“Founded in Yorkshire and working with a Yorkshire based manufacturer, I created a small tool range that I knew other nail technicians would fall in love with.”
Lucy decided to offer the range via www.lpnails.com, expanding its reach to more than her students. “The LP Tool Kit features three nail tools, each doing different jobs; The Cuticle Knife, The Cuticle Pusher and The Cuticle Nipper.
“The tools are covered in a titanium carbide coating, designed for longevity and optimum hygiene,” Lucy adds. “These tools have become our most popular products and they sold out in three weeks after launch!”
Sleek in appearance, the LP e-File in Lucy’s product portfolio has a large digital display means you know the exact RPM at all times. “This can be easily turned up or down, making for smooth transitions,” adds Lucy. It doesn’t contain small brushes in the motor.
“This has a variety of benefits such as increased torque, life span, reliability and reduced noise and vibration. A brushless machine also means that the hand piece is small and easy to hold.
“The LP e-File has 2.5ncm of torque, meaning only a light touch is required – which results in a more comfortable experience for your clients and less strain while you work.”
LP Nails also offers four different drill bit collections, the LP Hygiene Routine Kit (UK lab tested) and a selection of files.
“I wanted to create a brand with quality at its core and when it came down to the LP tools, I wanted to ensure I could work closely with UK based manufacturers to keep up with demand and so there would not be long lead times for product delivery,” adds Lucy.
“After the overwhelming response to the LP tool range, I have been busy working with the manufacturer to develop more tools which will launch in the near future.”
