Amanda Byrne share her love of acrylic, detailed nail designs and education

What is your all-time favourite nail product?

My favourite nail product has to be the acrylic system. I just love how creative I can be with all the different colours, glitters and materials.

What designs do you love to create?

I love doing very detailed hand painted art work, like Disney characters or lace. Anything detailed really! I also love to create encapsulated acrylic designs with glitter, of course.

 If you had to pick one, what nail colour would characterise your personality?

I’d say a bright pink as I have a bright and bubbly character and love anything girly.

What treatment or nail technique are you planning to add to your services?  What are your next steps?
I’m thinking of training Gemma Lambert for extreme nail shapes and also the lovely flat 3D flowers. The future is looking very exciting for me as I have just gained my Level 3 in education and training, so I’m looking forward to conducting 1-on-1 courses and helping other nail techs to better their skills.

What is the most exciting thing about the UK nail industry? 

I love how there are always new trends, keeping us all creative and keen. I also think it’s great that there are so many techs on YouTube helping others and showing off their own individual styles.

If you weren’t doing nails, what would you be doing?

If I weren’t doing nails I would be working in a private day nursery teaching children. I definitely made the right choice leaving that career path!
