Yesterday, I made my way to the highly quirky and graffiti-filled streets of Shoreditch for an innovative pop-up event hosted by Treatwell, promoting how easy it is to fix a nail chip with their beauty booking app. The event was solely based on the quick-witted twist on words of chips, #QuickChipFix, referencing nail polish chips as well as the tasty kind!

The pop-up was hosted in Boxpark – a venue notorious for their street food, wild events and youth culture. The main feature of the event was the Instagram-able, bohemian-style chip van, designed with Treatwell branding and a large image of a hand with gel polish chips on the side. All passers-by had to do was download the Treatwell app to claim their free chips courtesy of Poptata – not an offer that could easily be refused! There were three scrumptious varieties to choose from; ranging from ‘spicy ones’ to ‘cheesy ones’ to ‘salty’ ones depending on what each person fancied. Visitors were encouraged to share pictures of their chips on their social media platforms by using the #Treatwell and #QuickChipFix hashtags, which would automatically enter them into a competition to win a year’s worth of gel polish manicures

Another incredibly exciting feature of the pop-up was the free manicure stand, where three talented nail techs treated guests to gel polish manicures ready for summer. With generous selection of nail colours, the nail techs from London salon, Colour Riot Nails, delivered gel polish overlays and nail art. The overall aesthetic of the event saw every detail accounted for: the mixture of vibrant yellow, Barbie pink and emerald green shades created the colour palette of dreams! Even the cheesy chips, which were my personal preference, followed the colour scheme with the garlic sauce being a bright pink colour. The array of deckchairs sprinkled around the area provided the practicalities of comfort as well as acting as an icon of anticipation for the summer months! If deck chairs didn’t suit your fancy, there was also many giant beanbags that you could sprawl yourself across at your leisure.

The day put an emphasis on how easy it is to book beauty treatments through Treatwell – including fixing last minute nail chips – by teaming a nail desk with tasty free chips to grab the attention of London goers. People flooded the pop-up, with a constant queue at the chip van and the manicure desks fully booked for the entire day.
