Bright, decadent and oh-so Instagram-worthy, the All That Jazz Beauty Bar has opened on the seafront in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex; and it’s a true delight for the eyes – and nails.
Headed up by Nail Harmony UK director, Georgie Smedley, and her daughter, Jazz Christodoulou, the Beauty Bar employs a talented team of beauty moguls – including three apprentices – to offer a full complement of nail treatments, as well as make-up, brow and lash services, massages, waxing and Environ facials.
The duo designed the entire space, which sees clients walk into a beautiful airy reception area with custom-built seating area in the centre of the room, and specially designed mani and pedi setup a few steps further.
I headed to the venue, which ‘officially’ opens in a few weeks’ time, and was greeted by Jazz and Georgie’s perfectly presented team; all in cool grey uniforms with badges featuring their name and job role.
Each way I turned, there was a touch of detail to admire; from crushed velvet fabrics to unusually shaped stone basins and the incredible ceiling – a mass of white flowers. Georgie and Jazz revealed that they wanted to reflect touches of nature in their design, so light wooden flooring complemented stone-style nail desks (custom designed and built) and calming tones of grey, greige and cream.
A truly eye-catching feature is the flower wall by the reception desk; fronted with a swing so clients can sit and revel in a fun picture to show off their beauty service.
After I was treated to a Gelish manicure in spring-friendly shade, Picture Pur-fect with nail art discs on the ring fingernails, Jazz showed me the rest of the vast premises; a room featuring state of the art Ergoline lay-down sunbed, another with treatment bed with soothing dim lighting, and a treatment room with two beds; and plenty of natural light pouring in through the windows. Even the two toilets (one tailored to clients with disabilities) were impeccably furnished, with the natural theme running through.
Georgie, who, with husband Jason and business partner Paul, co-owns the hotel and Greek restaurant attached to the Beauty Bar, led me through the premises to the restaurant where I enjoyed a lovely Moussaka. She revealed that Beauty Bar clients can receive discounts on food, to enhance the wholesome, luxurious nature of their visit.
