Sweet Squared‘s marketing manager, Rachel Horrocks, shares her top tips for appropriate social media etiquette…
- “Do thank and encourage your clients to upload post-treatment selfies/nailfies or any pictures of them interacting with you via socials (following tutorials, etc) – you want the exposure and the more people that show off your skills, the easier it is to attract new customers and establish yourself in your domain.
- Do ask permission before you post images of your clients; you need to respect their wishes even if you think the image showcases your work beautifully. Discuss a compromise if they’re unhappy for their face to be included, such as cropping the image as much as you can.
- Do always respond to client questions, especially if they’re visible to others – your answer could help others looking on your page.
- Do avoid spelling mistakes and colloquialisms in your posts – it’s a business, not a private group chat and while some of your clients will have such a rapport with you, new clients may be intimidated.
- Do always acknowledge customer reviews and thanks them. Customer reviews are incredibly helpful for attracting new clients, coming up in search results and also for winning awards so your customer reviews are gold dust!”
