Premiere Orlando 2019: Key nail & beauty events

Scratch’s Helena and I touched down in sunny Florida for Premiere Orlando, a trade exhibition for the hair & beauty industry in the US.
Taking place across June 1-3 at the Orange County Convention Center, the professional exhibition saw over 850 brands exhibiting, as well as educational seminars, demonstrations and awards.
Across the two days, myself and Helena were kept busy – from stomping the show floor for new product innovations to catching up with friendly faces, there was not a spare moment!
The nail section of the hall saw many familiar brands on hand to showcase the latest launches. One of the first stands we encountered was the Gelish set-up, as the team caught everyone’s eyes wearing dazzling sequin jackets as a nod to Elton John and to celebrate the brand’s collaborative collection, Rocketman.
Working our way around the nail section, we also grabbed a quick snap with the Light Elegance team, who were showcasing the new Q&Lu range. The team at La Palm & Gel II revealed they had been kept busy with the brand’s new dipping system, Triple Vitamin.
We also caught up with Marilyn Olemma Garcia, global education director with Cuccio. Marilyn tended to Helena’s nails using Cuccio Veneer in Muscle Beach and Life’s Not Fahrenheit from the new Heatwave collection.
On hearing that scientist and author, Doug Schoon, was set to make an appearance at the show with Rejuvenate Disinfectants, we were keen to sit in on the seminar. In the informative talk, Doug busted myths surrounding sanitisation, answered questions and shared his advice for achieving optimum results.
Between stomping the show time, we were also on hand to help out with the first ever Nailympia Orlando. The competition saw techs from all over the world battle it out across two days of competitions in a variety of technical and creative categories.

It was amazing to see the competitors cheering each other on and celebrating everyone’s skills and successes – a fitting end to two fantastic days rubbing shoulders with some of the industry’s finest!
